homepower

Smart home app designed for tablet,
mobile and desktop.
This is a UI project I worked on while learning UX/UI with Codesigner.

The problem

Roommates often struggle with keeping track of
shared responsibilities, expenses, and events
leading to confusion and frustration.

The problem

In 'CoLive' roommates can manage every
aspect of the apartment, adapting easily to
changing circumstances. It offers an overview
of the apartment's status and individual
responsibilities, and simplifies expense tracking
and distribution among the roommates.

Usability testing

The process of adding shared purchased
items to expenses

1

The users didn’t notice the option to add the shared urchased items to the expenses. They did not perceive it as a button. The option to add shared purchased items to the expenses during the shopping process confused to them.

As a solution, I decided that the connection between the processes would be more subtle, expressed through a notification, which will appear after the user finish shopping. It will remind the users that they need to add a new "shared purchases" expense.

The process of verifying scanned receipt results

2

The users didn't understand what they were supposed to do at this stage. They were not familiar with this type of verification process. They were confused that it appeared process is under the "New expense" heading and in general, there was cognitive overload on the screen.

As a solution, I removed everything from the screen that was not necessary for receipt verification. In addition, I simplified the verification process and made it more gradual to reduce cognitive load.
