Meholelot - Online Feminine-Religious Weekly Magazine

Visual case design, web design, editorial design and content editing

"Meholelot" is a weekly online magazine that combains two seemingly contradicting worlds - feminism and religion. "Meholelot" is intended for women, mainly religious, who are interested in the feminine-religious discourse and are looking for knowledge, a place for self-expression and a sense of belonging. The magazine aims to be a space for open discourse, to present the range of opinions and issues that make up contemporary feminin-religious discourse, whether these are conservative or liberal views, or controversial issues.

The magazine is divided into 5 main sections representing 5 main areas within the feminine-religious discourse. The magazine also contains alternating sections that aim to create a community. The common theme to all the alternating sections is that they provide a platform for external content to the magazine, for example guest writers, stories of readers and more. The magazine uses collage as its main visual language, as a way to express the connection between the two worlds with which the magazine deals - feminism and religion.

The magazine design is inspired by feminist art and design, the female body and the Jewish religion. For example the layout of article pages, as shown on the left, is inspired by the layout of a Talmud page.

I designed this magazine as part of my final project for a bachelor's degree in visual communication design at the Holon Institute of Technology, moderated by lecturer Erez Bachar
