“Between the Folds” - Origami Catalog

print and content editing

“Between the Folds” is an art catalog about the art of origami. The catalog is divided into 2 parts. One part deals with figurative origami and the other part with abstract origami. Each section features work by 3 or 4 origami artists. Each artist was dedicated a double-sided strip of paper, folded in to a pattern unique to the part to which it belongs. The concept behind the design was to create something that has simplicity and neatness on the one hand and complexity, visual interest and playfulness on the other hand. The concept is inspired by the art of origami where one creates such complex and amazing works from something so simple, which seems so trivial to us as a piece of paper and often requires no special tools except for our hands.

The catalog was made as part of a bachelor's degree program in Visual Communication Design at the Holon Institute of Technology, under the guidance of the lecturer Avner Haberfeld.
